Despite embarking on their first-ever European adventure, Crystal Palace are adapting very quickly. Missing star players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable result that virtually secures them a spot in the Conference League qualifying rounds.
Another three points in their next match against Finnish KuPS should be enough to seal direct entry to the last 16, especially following a previous setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Grasp the Moment
This occasion provided a chance for some of Palace's fringe talent to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning after arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, finding the net for the second consecutive match.
A Shelbourne team that had finished their league season proved no match against a mostly rotated Palace lineup. The visitors were further depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg injuries.

Ex-Arsenal man didn't need to wait long to get his goal, tapping home from a yard out after Uche's shot had struck the post.
Shelbourne were clinging on for dear life. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to escape a booking for two agricultural tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the woodwork with a header from a corner.

The match was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some weak challenges before coolly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest key players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring his very first touch, but saw his shot blocked.
Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also missed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still scope for improvement in his game.
The only worry for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise positive evening for the visiting side.
